A Drop Towards Change: Our Rainwater Harvesting InitiativeΒ

Every drop tells a story β€” of responsibility, renewal, and hope.

At People4People, we’ve always believed that transformation begins in the spaces where children learn, play, and grow. Building on our legacy of setting up playgrounds in over 700+ government schools across India, we are now bringing sustainability into the heart of these learning spaces.

Our first Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) project β€” implemented at Government High School (KPS), Bayanna Layout, Hebbal, Bengaluru β€” is designed to help the school achieve Net-Zero water consumption, conserving and reusing over 6 lakh litres of rainwater annually. More importantly, it turns the school into a living classroom, where children will experience sustainability in action and carry those lessons into their communities.

This initiative marks the first step in our expanded mission, which now includes three powerful pillars:

  • 🌱 Sustainability – through initiatives like rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment, and urban afforestation.
  • πŸ› οΈ Skilling – by creating opportunities for local communities in play infrastructure and environmental projects.
  • πŸ—£οΈ Advocacy – to promote policies and practices that enhance children’s well-being and long-term social impact.

β€œWe’re truly excited to see how this project will make a difference. It’s inspiring for our students to see sustainability taking shape right in their school β€” it gives them a sense of pride and ownership.”
